Opened in autumn 2016, the David Ross Sports Village is a modern, purpose-built £40 million venue located on the University Park Campus. It’s not just a top-class sports facility, it’s also a brilliant space for conferences, exhibitions and large-scale events.

One of the highlights is the incredibly flexible sports hall, making it ideal for sports hall hire in the East Midlands as well as conferences, exhibitions and large-scale events. It can be transformed into a conference or event arena welcoming up to 3,000 guests, and has already hosted everything from medical symposia, summer camps and faith conferences to award ceremonies.

Alongside this, the village offers a fantastic range of indoor facilities including a climbing wall (perfect for team-building), a martial arts dojo, multi-use spaces, studios and a 25m swimming pool. Outside, you’ll find 3G and sand-dressed pitches, as well as netball and tennis courts.

With student accommodation nearby and the Orchard Hotel & Restaurant just across the road, David Ross Sports Village offers a standout event space in Nottingham for sports teams and event planners alike.

Complimentary gym & pool access

Hotel guests are welcome to use the gym and swimming pool free of charge, subject to availability. Simply pop by reception to book your session.

About the swimming pool

The pool is a 25-metre competition-standard pool, primarily used for performance swimmers.

  • Temperature: 27.5°C (slightly cooler than leisure pools)
  • No flumes or slides

Because of this, the pool isn’t suitable for young families or children under 5. Details on session types and changing facilities can be found here.

Safeguarding information

For everyone’s safety:

  • Children must not be on site unsupervised
  • Children must remain under the care of a responsible adult at all times

Booking other facilities

If you’d like to use additional facilities, you’ll need to create an account before you arrive and book activities in advance. Payment is required at the time of booking.
