About
Nottingham Venues

Nottingham Venues brings together a unique collection of meeting, bedrooms and event spaces, all set within the stunning grounds of the University of Nottingham. Our experienced team supports everything from meetings and conferences to full event management in Nottingham, creating seamless experiences for guests and organisers alike.

We are incredibly proud of our region, our city and our accessible location, which is why our location represents the mighty oak.

Nottingham Venues is a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Nottingham. We are located across 2 of the University of Nottingham’s campuses; University Park and Jubilee. We work closely with colleagues across the University to ensure our guests receive a great experience, combining venue expertise with professional East Midlands event services across our portfolio.

History

Our history: Nottingham Venues over the years

Although some of our buildings date back to the early 19th century, our story began a little later than that!

It started in 1994 with the opening of the Jesse Boot Conference Centre (now known as the East Midlands Conference Centre) and University of Nottingham Conference Centres (UNCC), a team dedicated to managing all event space on campus and delivering professional event management in Nottingham for a wide range of clients and events.

From there, the empire began to grow with the extension of the Conference Centre and opening of the adjacent Orchard Hotel and Restaurant in 2012.

What followed was the opening of the Jubilee Conference Centre in 2016 (now the Jubilee Hotel & Conferences), the former building for the National College for School Leadership.

More recently, we refurbished EMCC and acquired Hugh Stewart House and in June 2022 bought all of the above together to form a newly branded Nottingham Venues. By having all of the campus events, meeting and accommodation space under one name, we are able to provide an unrivalled portfolio of venues.

"Working at Nottingham Venues is amazing. Everybody is so kind and welcoming not just to the guests but to each other. We all get along very well, and it is very easy to work alongside so many different departments. I work in Maintenance and have to speak to all departments regularly and I couldn't recommend a better place to work for friendliness but also for support and help on things you're not great at. Overall, a great company to work for from top to bottom."
Noah Lacey, Maintenance Assistant

With ongoing support, I advanced into a dual role as Supervisor and Online Content Creator before moving into my current full-time supervisory position. I have successfully managed a range of high-profile events, including weddings, conferences, and large-scale functions, while developing skills in leadership, staff management, budgeting, forecasting, rota planning, and operations."

Community Commitment

We’re proud to call Nottingham home. From the people we work with to the places we source from, our community shapes everything we do. We’re committed to supporting our local community through meaningful partnerships and everyday actions which are listed below.

Charity Partnerships

We believe small actions make a big impact. That’s why we team up with local charities to support the brilliant work happening across Nottingham. From fundraising events to volunteer days and in-kind support, we’ve always looking for ways to lift up the organisations that matter to our community

Sustainability

Doing the right thing for the planet is part of how we do business. We’re committed to reducing waste, cutting carbon where we can, and making smarter, greener choices in our kitchens, offices and venues. Sustainability is a journey and we’re working to make every step count.

Community and local schools

We love getting involved with schools and community groups across the city. Whether it’s hosting learning sessions, providing work experience opportunities, or supporting local initiatives, we’re passionate about helping young people discover new skills and feel inspired about their future.
