The Story of Bramleys Restaurant
Set within the Orchard Hotel, Bramleys offers the very best of locally sourced and seasonal food and drink in a relaxed modern setting.
Our name comes from our association with the original Bramley apple tree, originating from Southwell, Nottinghamshire.
Biologists from the University of Nottingham saved the tree from fungus and it’s still fruiting from this day. They also ensured the future of the Bramley apple by using modern biotechnology methods to clone the original tree, thereby preserving the fruit.
Now, twelve of the clone trees are thriving in the Millennium gardens behind the Orchard Hotel. This guarantees the future generation of gardeners will have access to the original form of the Bramleys seedling.

Next to Bramleys restaurant is the Brailsford Suite, our private function room seating up to 60 people. The room can be transformed into any private dining event.
Our expert catering team can provide buffets, afternoon teas, cocktails, dainty dishes through to lavish three course meals.
